Even before the tussle between Amazon and Google is
resolved, the retailer (Amazon)
has found itself on another fire exchange with Birkenstock.
The wrangle dates way back in 2016 where Birkenstock opted to stop doing
business with Amazon, with the company citing the reason as something to do
with counterfeit goods placed on Amazon’s site in its name.
It also claimed that Amazon harbored shady resellers. Now,
after a German court ruling, the judge said that the retailer shouldn’t buy
AdWords for “Birkenstock” variations. As in, the shoe firm has won the lawsuit
where Amazon is told not to purchase ads on variations of the name that
shoppers might mistype.
Birkenstock case pointed out that people were lured to
visit Amazon’s site after mistyping the intended search and that led the
customers to fake products, that in some way could damage their Birkenstock reputation.
Well, we are waiting to see if these two giants will resolve things out.
Recently Amazon spat with the search engine giant -Google,
but then it had something to smile after partnering with Nike.
Since this is just a typo thing, we hope Birkenstock and
Amazon stop being childish and focus on their customers.
